Mace pepper spray, pepper spray, stun guns, and tasers are self-defense products. There are legal restrictions on these products which vary from state to state. One of the most popular products is the cell phone stun gun. Because it looks harmless, it’ll surprise the perpetrator. Stun guns use a high voltage to stop, but do not maim or kill, an attacker. Touching the two prongs for half of a second to the body will stop the perp. This will cause pain and muscle contractions. Holding the stun gun to the body for two seconds will cause loss of balance and muscle control, mental confusion and disorientation. A stun gun on the body for three seconds will bring the perp down. Everyone is built differently so what may take three seconds on one person may take five seconds on another person.

Unlike the stun gun, the taser does not have to touch the body. You can fire up to 15 feet away, and the 50,000 volts will impair the attacker. The non-lethal taser weapon has been proven the most effective of all the self-defense weapons. Women can purchase the Taser C2 in a metallic pink color. Lastly, the pepper sprays and mace sprays are inexpensive, and have a loop to put on your key chain. There are too many rapes and assaults, and young women and older women must protect themselves.
